Five miles east of the US Highway 136 and NE Highway 14 intersection, go north one mile on a county road to the village of Nora. Once a thriving town of 300, it now has just 18 residents. The school, store and elevator still stand. The brick Methodist Church was closed in 2006 and was later torn down. The elevator is privately owned. Nora was popular in the 1960’s when the rodeo drew thousands to town.
